Anshul Kothari shortlisted as probable for Indian swimming team at Commonwealth Games 2010

Anshul Kothari, son of Ketan and Sushma Kothari of Surat, has been selected to attend the second training camp for probables for the Indian swimming team at the Commonweatlh Games 2010. The camp commences at Johannesburg in the first week of March.

Earlier Anshul was one of the four swimmers from Gujarat who attended the all-India training camp conducted at the Sports Authority of India Centre in Bangalore in January 2009.

A student of Computer Engineering at the Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Institute of Technology at Surat, Anshul had earlier represented the state at the 62nd Senior National meet at Hyderabad in November where he won a bronze medal in the 100m freestyle swimming event, the first swimmer from the state to win a medal at the National championships in over three decades.
